Five specific and measurable objectives are unique to this project:
Implementation of gendered data collection that measures women's power within HEIs (decision-making positions).
University decision-makers' understanding of and commitment to addressing gender inequality
Establishment of an institutional framework that promotes gender equality
Strengthening of non-discriminatory evaluation and recruitment mechanisms
Increasing the visibility of sexual harassment and improving the handling of it
These objectives align with several specific goals of the CSER, namely:
Fostering inclusive education, equality, equity, non-discrimination, and the promotion of civic competencies in higher education in non-program countries. Gender equality is the sole objective of this project. Specifically, the elimination of discrimination against women in recruitment to higher level positions - and thus inclusive governance of HEIs - will ensure inclusive education, equality, equity and non-discrimination across all communities in these institutions, including the student community
Strengthen teaching, evaluation mechanisms for HEI staff and students, quality assurance, management, governance, inclusion
Improve teacher training and ongoing professional development to influence the long-term quality of the education system; In the implementation of this project, we will implement trainings to improve the assessment and recruitment practices of female candidates in HEIs, with the objective of ensuring gender equality at all levels of HEI governance and administration.
Stimulate inter-institutional cooperation, capacity building and exchange of good practices; This project will - and can - only be achieved through the implementation of a common approach, which will allow for the exchange of experiences, the sharing of solutions, the identification of cultural specificities, the exchange of good practices and ultimately enable each HEI to set out on an effective path to ensure gender equality within its institution.
This project also meets the regional priorities for Region 3. In particular, it aims to improve the governance of HEIs to ensure equality and the empowerment of women, based on a partnership between HEIs from the northern and southern shores of the Mediterranean
